Why You Should Rent a Studio on Your Wedding Day

Let's face it. Not every hotel room or venue is going to have a gorgeous getting ready space. Or maybe it's a gorgeous space, but it's ruined by less than ideal lighting situations that have little to no natural light or, God forbid, fluorescent lighting.

I get it. You're already spending a ton of money for your venue, food, dress, photographer...the last thing you want to do is spend more for a space that to you, is really just an afterthought and isn't important.

Here's why I'm going to try to change your mind:

Getting ready on your wedding day can look however you want it to. Whether it's with your girls, your mom, or maybe even your fiancé, these are the last moments you'll spend before you say "I do" to the love of your life and begin life as husband and wife. To me, those moments are pretty special. And they deserve to happen in a space that has the same amount of grandeur as every other wedding day moment--your first look, your vows, your reception. Where you get ready matters--your photographer can only do so much with what they're given. A studio can be the best place for this to happen.

Why a Studio?

Photography studios aren't just a space to use when weather is less than ideal. To a photographer, this sanctuary of a space is where creativity flows--you can experiment with different lighting, props, poses etc. For a wedding day, it's a space where beautiful moments can be captured in an equally beautiful atmosphere. Not only that, but you get a moment to really shine on your day as a bride. Because really, you spent months, maybe even years planning for this one day--shouldn't you make the most of every moment?

If my words don't convince you, I hope these photos will. I still look back on my wedding day photos and wish that the space I prepared to get ready in had a prettier atmosphere. I've had friends come back and tell me "I hadn't thought about it before, but it really changed how my wedding photos turned out. I wish I had used a better space."

Your getting day photos deserve better than the basement of your church or the windowless room at your venue.
